Types of Hair Extensions
Explore ways to add length, fullness or coverage at Salonlareine. Your consultation helps us choose the method, weight and placement for your natural hair, scalp and desired style.
Fine or thinning hair needs individual assessment: small or hidden attachments do not automatically make a method suitable.
Great Lengths Keratin Bonds & Ultrasonic Application
Individual keratin bonds add length or fullness with carefully tailored placement. Great Lengths ultrasonic application is available, with attachment size and weight chosen for your natural hair.
Suitability: Assessed individually; finer or fragile areas may need another method.
Care: Personal review and removal schedule. Individual extensions are worn for no longer than three months before the required removal or refitting assessment.
Remi Cachet Ultra Tips & Pro Tips
Reusable Remi Cachet extensions secured with matching Ultra Locks, without heat or adhesive application. Pro Tips are smaller and lighter than Ultra Tips.
Placement: We can combine the two and use scattered fitting for discreet fullness where suitable.
Care: Maintenance and professional refitting are planned around your density and growth.
Tape-In & Invisi Tape Extensions
Tape and Invisi tape extensions add length or fullness using flat adhesive tabs. Single- or double-sided fitting is selected to suit your hair.
Suitability: We assess coverage, scalp condition and hair strength; discreet tabs are not suitable for every thinning area.
Maintenance: Usually every 4–6 weeks, with professional removal and re-taping.
Micro Ring & Nano Ring Extensions
Individual strands secured with small metal rings, without heat or adhesive application. Nano rings have smaller attachments than micro rings.
Suitability: Strand weight and placement matter as much as ring size, especially with fine or thinning hair.
Care: Follow your personal maintenance schedule and contact us promptly about slipping, tangling or discomfort.
Traditional Sew-In / Braided Weave
A traditional sew-in uses a braided foundation, with extension wefts stitched onto the braids. We tailor the braid pattern, hair weight and placement to your desired style.
Suitability: Natural density, hair strength and scalp condition are assessed first, with particular care around fragile hairlines.
Care: Your consultation includes a maintenance and removal schedule. Suitable closures or frontals can also complete the look.
Braidless, Naked & Invisible Weft Extensions
Wefts are secured using a beaded foundation and stitching. Braidless, naked and Invisi techniques provide different ways to conceal the attachment area without a braided base.
Suitability: Row weight and placement are tailored to the hair supporting them.
Maintenance: Usually every 6–10 weeks, or earlier where needed.
Hair Toppers
A topper adds coverage and fullness around the crown or parting and blends with your own hair. It can be cut to create a fringe or support a style where there is less length or density on top.
Clip-in or professionally secured fitting is selected after assessing your natural hair and scalp. The base size, weight and attachment positions must suit the hair supporting the piece.
Book a consultation before purchasing. Pieces are selected or ordered for your needs rather than held as salon stock.
Lace Closures & Frontals
Closures cover a smaller area, usually around the parting or crown. Frontals cover a wider section along the front hairline, with parting options depending on their construction.
These pieces can complete a traditional sew-in or be combined with other suitable methods when your natural hair cannot provide the desired coverage. Lace or silk construction, blending and attachment are planned individually.
For fine or thinning hair, scalp condition and the strength of the supporting hair are assessed first. Book a consultation before buying a piece.
Bespoke Curly & Wavy Extensions
Curly and wavy extensions are selected to blend with your natural texture, including custom-permed extension hair where appropriate. We consider your curl pattern, density and how you wear your hair before choosing the hair and fitting method.
Bring photographs of your natural hair and the result you want to your consultation. Texture matching, blending and aftercare are planned individually.
