Paint Your Face the Gentler Way with Aveda Makeup

Aveda makeup

If you’ve been following us on social media, you will have seen that we’re all about Aveda these days. As well as introducing their amazing range of gentle hair products to the salon, we also stock the best in their gorgeous makeup range.

After hairdressing for many years and being exposed to a lot of chemical nasties, I started suffering from really bad dermatitis. I could barely use anything on my skin as it was just too sore and sensitive.

But along came Aveda, and it changed my life.

I found that their skincare range was perfectly nourishing and gentle for my skin, and I went from not being able to wear makeup to being able to paint my face with some of Aveda’s best products (their red lippies are to die for!)

But what makes Aveda’s makeup so wearable?

The company uses mostly natural ingredients including pure flower and plant essences, which are much gentler on the skin than synthetic ingredients. Their products are also certified organic and are suitable for vegans.

Which products do we stock?

The next time you’re in getting a hair makeover, why not treat yourself to some Aveda makeup too, to finish off your new look and complement your new hair colour? These are some of the products that I love that much I just had to bring them into the salon.

Feed my lips™ pure nourish-mint™ lip gloss

This vegan lip gloss is made from 98% naturally-derived ingredients and it delivers all day colour and moisture. It smooths the lips and plumps them, making them appear fuller, and it feels light and not at all sticky, like some lip glosses can.

It’s so moisturising because it contains a nourishing blend of certified organic cupuaçu seed fruit butter and mango seed butter, as well as a unique super fruit blend of açai, pomegranate, avocado and mangosteen.

Certified organic pomegranate and babassu oil bring the shine and a blend of botanical oils, including certified organic kukui, jojoba and sunflower help smooth the lips.

feed my lips™ pure nourish-mint™ lip liner

Define and shape your lips with this gorgeous liner made with 96% naturally-derived ingredients. It contains mango seed oil and a blend of botanical waxes for smooth gliding, and blendable colour. Choose from a range of shades to complement your hair colour.

feed my lips™ pure nourish-mint™ lipstick

This 95% naturally derived long-wearing lipstick contains nourishing certified organic cupuaçu fruit butter, botanical oils, and Aveda’s signature certified organic peppermint, vanilla and ginger aroma-flavour. Choose from shades in a satin finish created to complement your hair colour.

inner light™ concealer

This semi-matte creamy concealer is infused with reflective minerals, to add radiance to skin while hiding under-eye puffiness and other imperfections. It provides full coverage and has a soft-tip easy gliding wand applicator. What’s even better is that it’s aroma-free, suitable for even acne-prone skin, and it’s ophthalmologist-tested.

Inner light™ mineral loose powder

Add a touch of illumination to your skin with this lighter-than-air powder, infused with skin-loving, reflective minerals. It feels silky on your skin and it sets makeup while reducing shine and the appearance of pores and fine lines.

It provides a semi-matte finish, it’s talc free, and suitable for even acne prone skin. It’s also free from parabens so it’s much gentler on the skin.

Inner light™ mineral tinted moisture

This gorgeous tinted moisturiser instantly increases radiance and delivers moisture on application. Your complexion will look gorgeously smooth, even, and dewy. The colour is 100% derived from minerals so you know you’re not clogging your pores with nasties.
